Pink faceshield that is! I’ve been contemplating this spontaneous purchase- a pink mirrored faceshield for my helmet since… well, about a month after I got the helmet. (For those counting, that’s about six months). I even tried to order it from my local brick-and-mortar, walk-up-and-pay-the-dude-hanging-out-behind-the-counter bike shop, but they couldn’t seem to locate one.

Alas, I had to resort to Internet® and order one from Miami. $42 dollars later (ouch!), I have acquired the pinkness! Which is more purple than anything. Details after the jump…

Pink HJC Faceshield. Suit and tie not included.

After much reluctance and endless trips to various “IRL” bike shops, Internet® prevailed once again. A couple web searches and I landed at hjc-helmets.com.  Yet another subtle redirect for accessoryinternational.com, this poorly designed and somewhat janky website was the only site I found that actually listed the shield for my HJC CJ-16 helmet *in stock*!  Fortunately I had a couple bucks burning a hole in my Paypal account, so I decided to risk that (as opposed to my credit card) and order up an HJC-09 “Mirrored Face SH Pink Shield”.   A week later (and knocking on my neighbor’s door because the UPS guy is a dolt, apparently), I am now sporting an obnoxiously douchy unmanly THIRD face shield.  Is three face shields normal?  (Heck- it’s a helluva lot cheaper than three helmets!)

I couldn’t wait until daylight to try it on, as shown in the photo. Stay tuned for some real world testing and commentary.
