Last night the official results were posted for the 10k I ran and discussed the other day.   My time of 50:37 is officially official, and I came in 38th place!   Yay!   Well, actually that’s not entirely true.  I came in 38th place in the Mens’ 10k.   When you count the women, I came in 50th.  I don’t mind being beat by 12 women.

Not too shabby considering that less than one year ago I came in 145th place in a 5k.     50th?  I’ll take it!  

Yesterday I ran my first 10k "event", i.e. not counting just running around the neighborhood or the treadmill.  I have a pretty steady pace which has me finishing somewhere between 58:30 and 58:50 consistently.

Apparently either the hills in my neighborhood, the treadmill, and/or the mixes I use from Podrunner.com are holding me back, or the timing devices at the event are all out of whack, because according them, my 10k time yesterday was 50:37!!  WTF?!   A difference of eight minutes?!

As my friend put it, "8 minutes is huge!"  Anyway, Sunday is my rest day (no running/gym) so this gives me time to ponder how I’m going to meet or beat that time from now on.

The first six (6) people to respond to this post will get something made by me. It will be about or tailored to those six who respond first.

So the story goes, my friend talks me into going to the Open Call for Survivor 19…

To make a long story short, we were in line for 6 hours… 

[we estimated we were approx #750 and 751 in this line]

The Interview: After being in line for six hours, we got 60 seconds to talk into a camera, stating our name and why we should be on the show.

And then we went home.  (how anti-climatic is that?!) 

Still, quite and adventure in a demented and sad sort of way!  Wouldn’t it be the shiz if I actually get a call-back?

Greetings folks! Well, we’re in full swing into 2009 now, and with a new year comes new things for yours truly and The Bushfinger Music Project.

Along with hopes, dreams, wishes and prayers, the New Year rings in a new studio, new hardware, new website (soon), new goals, and subsequently, a new name for my band? [dramatic flourish]

Yeppers- It looks like its time to retire the name and move forward. Not for contract or trademark dispute reasons (which I am no stranger to), but, well, for many reasons. For one, with the namesake and original inspiration for the Bushfinger Music Project, aka Mr. Knucklehead- finally out of our hair (or is he?!?!), having “Bushfinger” in the name is just that much less funny (still funny to me, but less to others). Oh and another good reason- when you do a google search for “Bushfinger”, I don’t come up on the top of the list. Okay sure I’m at least on the front page, so I guess I can’t complain about that. And that’s just two of a bout four or five reasons why it’s time to consider a name change.

“But to what?” You say? Well, that is indeed the question isn’t it? I tend to come up with the best names for bands when I’m not even thinking about it. But since I’m thinking about it right now, I can’t think of one! (Don’tcha hate that?!)

I am always open to your suggestions on just about everything, and now, naming my band. I’ll figure out a prize or something for the one I like the best. And for everyone else, no worries- I will be sure to keep you informed fo any changes as they come up.

Allow me to be the 6255th website to discuss the “World Premiere” of the MINI Cabrio, and the MINI E At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this past week. I put “World Premiere” in quotes because, well, if you’re a big fan of the MINI, you’ve seen the photos and videos circulating the Internet as early as 6 months ago.

But alas, how could I not write post about it. But even better than that, how about some video!
